Egg bound??? Peritonitis?? pictures...Please help!!

Well she finally laid an egg yesterday. It was a normal egg, I was expecting a big ol' egg to pop out for the amount of grief it gave her. But I'm relieved that it is out. I'm still watching her, making sure her red bottom doesn't get worse.

I have something similar going on with one of my PBRs, minus the red and swelling. She's just sitting there. I soaked her and she seemed to enjoy it but I couldn't feel anything. I got about 2" in and couldn't feel an egg. We just lost our favorite Araucana a few weeks ago (i think she ate grass on the property line that my neighbor sprayed with round up

). Any thoughts as to what else I can do?

Well I'm not sure what else could be going on with your girI. I eventually took mine to an avian vet and they wanted to do surgery....I did not, so they gave her pain meds and an anti inflammatory. I gave her daily doses of both, plus started her on antibiotics that I had on hand, along with calcium. I could still tell she had something up there, and could actually feel it, but it was lodged far up. With daily soakings, meds, and patience she finally passed the egg. The key here, is that I could feel the egg, and I assume some type of infection going on.

With a your hen, I would just provide supportive care....make sure she is eating/drinking, separate her from the flock, keep her in a quiet dark area, give her daily soaks if she's not too sick, and give calcium (a crushed up tums). Don't soak her in if she starting to look ill, it could make her worse. Glove up and go in to see if you can feel an egg. My hen was not eating so I supplemented her food by tube feeding her, so if you need to start doing that, there are a ton of threads on here yo show you how. Good luck, let me know how she does.
