Egg bound quail

I have a eggbound quail i can feel the egg inside her cavity, it has been there 2 days now i did try to soak her in warm water the other day it did not work. I also have massaged but nothing is helping

Sorry that we are late in answering your thread. How is your quail doing? Is she able to poop? Did she lay the egg?

someone on facebook told me to put her in a box with a brooder light and with some water to make it humid, i woke up and she had passed away.

I got her from a pet shop now im worried that the other female i brought at the same place might end up doing the same thing.. her poop did not look right it looked yellowish white direah maybe she had some kind of sickness and was to weak to push that egg out regardless

Sorry for your loss. Poop pictures are welcome. Have you had any trouble with coccidiosis? You can keep her body on ice in a cooler and send it to your state poultry lab for a necropsy and diagnosis on Monday. Here is a list of state vets:
