egg bound?

she hasent been laying... she only layed me 1 egg since i got her it has been about 2 weeks so shouldent she be laying atleast every 2 days??? how do i check if she is egg bound??

If she was eggbound, she would be dead by now.
It could be she is just taking a break, molting or it is hot where you are. If she is new, she just might still be getting used to you and her new surroundings and the egg she laid was on the way out already. She might also be hiding her eggs. Every now and then when egg numbers go down here, I search around and usually find a pile of eggs somewhere.

I think Terrielacy is right on the money. It gets very hot here in Virginia-- I have ten hens and might get one or two eggs daily. Sometimes none of them lay for a few weeks. If she appears bright-eyed and interested in food and her surroundings I wouldn't worry.

i was worried about her.
i just lost a chicken yesterday to unknown casues. poor birdie.

now im only down to 1 laying (on break...) and one pullet.
