Egg bound??

I have a hen that is 9 months old and I'm trying to check her vent for egg blockage. She keeps pooping everytime I insert my finger. I can't feel the egg on the outside of her abdomen. So I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if she's even egg bound. Any tips?

Why do you think she's egg-bound? I would just leave her alone.

She had a really dirty butt and the area was swollen. I have been soaking her and keeping her separate from the rest of the flock. The swelling is gone and she looks a little better today but it's been 3 days and no egg yet. If nothing by tomorrow she's going back in the coop.
