Egg bound

If she is standing like a penguin then she may have water belly. You may want to post in the diseases & pests forum. She may not be egg bound so maybe title your thread more openly for ideas to her issue. Pictures are very helpful

Can you please post a picture of her poop as watery is a big symptom of NCD and plus she isn't very active.
It's not New Castle.

Gator girl , the only thing in your posts that raises a red flag for a hen being eggbound is the word you used in post #7 -“penguin”.

Without examining her internally you won’t know if she’s eggbound.

Other reasons for not laying:
The time of year
Molting
Reproductive diseases (many)
Other Illness

I have a bound chicken. I have given her calcium pills and soaked her in epsom salt baths and keeping her separate from the others. She doesn’t show any signs of distress she drink and eats but I want to help her pass this any other tips?

She lays down all the time and not moving much and she looks like a penguin and easily loses balance. I took her in a few weeks ago and the person mentioned she doesn’t lay much because she is older but I still have not gotten a egg. She started acting like this yesterday morning and everything indicated she was binding. Her poop is watering diarrhea and no blood.
My
Sorry in advance but her vent to me seemed pretty healthy other than the fact she seems to be trying to get a egg out. If something more was going on would it be red and swollen. I’m a new chicken owner and want to eliminate as much as possible.
@gatorrr101 you took her to the vet a few weeks ago? Was it for this same reason/
How long has it been since she last laid an egg?
If she is able to poop, then she is not egg bound. I agree with @Eggcessive that your description of symptoms, she may have a reproductive disorder which can look like egg binding.
The vent would not necessarily be red and swollen with a reproductive disorder. Feel her abdomen for any bloat/swelling or what feels like fluid. (feel between the legs/below the vent).

FWIW - The symptoms you describe, I would not associate with Newcastles period.

If she is egg bound you will be able to feel the egg by inserting your finger into her vent up to the first knuckle.
You may also be able to feel the egg from the outside of her abdomen.
Do this before you start to worry about any possible disease.
