My bantam Cochin, Pearl, is right about laying age but has not laid yet. This morning she was all hunched over and not running around like she usually does. I picked her up to inspect and then set her down and she “pooped” what looks like egg white. Should I be treating for egg-bound? She has no other illness symptoms other than the lethargy and hunching.she won’t walk.

What does her vent area look like? Any fluid leaking around it? Have you checked around your coop for any soft shells?

How is she doing now?

What do you feed, including treats?

Is she eating/drinking?

If she's still hunched up, I would give her 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet now, then once daily for a week.
The Extra calcium can help if she's struggling with an egg.

The poop looks like Urates, make sure she's staying hydrated. Offer her a little sugar water or electrolytes.

I gave her a little epsom bath soak. She is so fluffy it’s hard to see anything, but after a little soak I could see her vent and feathers better. She had some poo that would drip out onto her feathers, but I cleaned her up. I really don’t think it’s vent gleet because she’s pretty clean and doesn’t stink. I took her back outside to sit in the sun and once she was dry she walked around a bit. She drank water and ate a tiny bit of food. For treats I give my girls soldier fly larvae. Occasionally some vegetable ends or I toss them an egg. Their feed is a mix of an all flock and layer. I have her isolated from the others within the coop (I built a brooding/quarantine area in the coop). She has her own food and water there and fresh pine shavings. Shes still puffed up but at least she’s moving around. None of the others have any symptoms.

I should add she’s too young to molt .
