We had an egg bound hen. We were able to help her pass with soaking, massage and lubricants per advise found on other sites. It’s 2 days later and this is what her vent looks like. It’s hard to get a good answer online so hoping someone here might know what’s happening.

Had you given her any calcium? 300-500mg of Calcium +D3 is what's recommended to be given for egg-bound chickens, daily for up to a week. That causes contractions so they usually pass it. We didn't have any when we had the issue, so gave ours a Tums every day for 3 days.

I'm not sure what you're seeing there, but I'd give her the calcium to help her pass it. It looks like poop now that she passed an egg, mixed with possibly a broken one behind that or lash material. She could also be prolapsing. Another soak wouldn't hurt and might help her clear it.

Welcome to BYC, by the way!
