Egg Bound??

We have a Birchen Old English Game Bantam hen. We have had her for about 2 1/2 weeks and only have gotten 2 eggs from her. Today I noticed she is very lethargic, not wanting to stand on her own and her vent is leaky. I was holding her and she pooped a couple of times and it was very runny. Her vent also looks swollen. We are new to chickens and this is to be one of my daughters 4-H show birds. Any ideas?

You could try soaking her for a while in a warm bath then putting her in in a darkened place for rest. Put a little Preparation H just inside her vent. There are lots of threads on here about eggbound birds.

I would look up egg binding and there are many helpful threads on it here. hope this helps

Thank you for the suggestion of the warm bath. I was thinking of bathing her anyway to clean the feathers around her vent. I have her in my laundry room to keep her away from drafts. She is doing a little better today. She is drinking more water and walking around more today.
