Egg Breaking

One of the chickens has been breaking her eggs. Noticed two or three broken. Don't know who did it and if they are just clumsy or purposely breaking and eating them. What does anyone else do with this problem?

Hi - I wanted to ask the same question...my barred rock is pecking & eating her own eggs! I have had harmony in my coop (2 yrs) until now, she is being bullied by my white brahama, just chases her away from food. I think it may be a self esteem issue! Anyone know what to do???

how did you find out which one was doing it? I'd have to stand by their coop all day to find out. We have a barred rock, leghorn, rhode island red and australorp. Maybe it's our barred rock also?

ive only heard of chickens eating their own eggs when they arent getting enough of the right nutrients, almost like they are eating them as a substitute or if they get fed raw egg. are they being eaten or just broken?

My husband saw most of them so I'll have to ask and find out. Hopefully they were just broken from a clumsy hen.
