Egg broke before being laid - help!

It happens sometimes. I have one hen that is just getting into the laying routine, and she has laid 4 shell-less eggs in a row! Not fun to clean up, let me tell you.

I found one in a nest one time, only I didn't realize it didn't have a shell. I grabbed it like any other egg and then recoiled as if I'd just grabbed a rat! That was one of the craziest things I've ever felt unexpectedly - an egg without a shell. Looked really cool candled!

Yeah! The hen that I mentioned laid two from the roost, but they were frozen because it was night and below freezing. The outer layer was frozen in an almost poop-shaped thing at the top. It's the weirdest egg I've ever seen!

Yeah my Buff Orpington/Speckled Sussex hybrid laid a shell-less egg this morning!
