Hello,
I walked outside a while ago to find my best hen Rosie standing with a soft shelled egg hanging out of her vent. The egg did break as she was trying to pass it, so I know some of it is still inside her. I give my hens crushed egg shells and oyster shells, so I’m not quite sure what the problem is here. I found another soft shelled egg in the nesting box a few days ago too. But my main question is not why, but what do I do with her right now?
Right now I have her in a tub of warm water (no epsom salt because I don’t have any). But what else should I do for her? I know an egg breaking inside a hen can be very bad. So I want to do everything in my power to help her.
Thanks in advance.
