I had an egg bound Ameraucana she was all but dead when I found her, stiff legs, ruffled feathers, heavy labored breathing. Massage with mineral oil and a warm bath on her vent area didn't seem to help, So I gloved up and went up to see if I could help , the egg was way to large, and good and stuck as well as a hard shell. after a while the egg broke, She was relieved and I massaged as much as possible out and separated her from the others.
After about 3 days she had the leg back under her. 4 days she was perching again.
I offered chick starter crumbles with DE in hopes to help clean out the pipes.
She is acting normal now eating and drinking well when is it safe to know that she is not infected and can join the others without infection?
Can anyone advise?
