Egg carton hatching? is this safe?

that works for me. trim the top, sides, punch holes in the bottom. they will pip, zip, and pop right out. the first to hatch cant play soccer with the others.

I know a lot of people use the cartons and it works really well for them. The one time I tried it I had a number of chicks pip below the carton line. They couldn't get out and died in the shell.

Since then I have used it for the first part of incubation and then took them out for lockdown.

I have the same question about this I have hatched in just plain cardboard cartons. I like this system because I think it there is a misshapen air cells from shipping or something its makes it easier for them to pip and zip on the correct end of the egg.

i do alot of triming to the egg cartons. when i am done they is just enough left to keep the egg from falling out.

It's intended for better air circulation, but I don't think it is 100% necessary. It's just added for good measure

I've used both. The paper ones suck up a lot of humidity when you first put them in there. Otherwise, they seem the same to me
