egg carton use

I am just finishing my first hatch and I hand turned the eggs and all went well. I was wondering if I could put my eggs in egg cartons and place a round object under them at slightly past center and simply tilt the cartons from one side to the other as this would save time when it comes to turning the eggs, I have no automatic turner. It seems to me after looking at automatic turning trays is that all they do is go from tilting from one side to the other. What do you think? Thanks for your input.

I think that would work fine, but you might want to consider not using a round object and going for a more stable rectangle. You can even put it on one end if it is tall enough.

I used the cover of the egg carton. I cut it in half in height wise but left the length the same. I only have one turner and have two sets of eggs going so we will see how it hatches.

I used the lids becase when i just laid the eggs in there they went all over the place. Do I wait til tomorrow to start turning? I thought some one said that the day they go in doesnt count. = may try the leaning carton thing...not sure yet.
