My incubator is a old cooler and just put my eggs on the bottom on a layer of pine shaving and paper towels at lock down I plan to change it all so it is all fresh and the pine shaving is well covered so they do not pick at it. My eggs have made little indents in the pine shaving so they do not roll around at all.

Yes small side down. Higins00 I like your idea. That is thinking outside the crate. : ) If I'd seen that before they started rocking I would be trying that. I have to go home and go to bed. I hate leaving them here at the school, but I'm not spending the night because I think they have a long way to go.

I'm having the same issue with eggs rolling. I thought about the egg carton idea, but now maybe not. So putting them on paper towels or the rolls are ok? I never had this much trouble when I bred reptiles UGH!! lol

btw, I have since purchased a 2nd incubator so this isn't that crowded anymore. I basically (probably) have isa browns, frizzles, cochins and pekins.
So do I have them in there wrong? There are pretty much 3 hatch dates (LONG story lol) and it's been guessed that some of them will probably hatch in the next few days. Should I leave them alone, no more turning?

You should use your second incubator as a hatcher due to the staggered hatch dates, because you have to turn the other eggs that aren't due to hatch yet...

Leave them. They are fine.

So I shouldn't turn anymore, even though I'm not sure of all of the hatch dates? What if they roll?

If they roll, they are rolling on purpose. I say leave them be. A hen would!!
