This chicken got caught in an automatic feeder a few months ago... She seemed fine other than the fact she stays by herself mostly; doesn't go far when I let them all out... She walked fine and seemed normal. After this happened I noticed poop always stuck in her back feathers; I just let her be till my rooster and another hen had feathers missing. I thought maybe they had lice so I caught her to look for lice; i got the hose and washed off her butt and discovered this... Never heard that a hen may not be able to lay an egg!!! She has this black looking infection under her vent. I am not too familiar with a chickens anatomy... So can someone give me some advice please I can't believe that this chicken is not dead as this happened mid Feb. Maybe the egg is just something new that has happened more recent. After I got these 5 hens I noticed an egg about the size of a marble... Either her first egg or something.. It only had the white in it no yolk.
Today I put oil on her and massaged her; it does feel like an egg is in her!
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
