Egg color genetics question

Hi,

This may be a very obvious question, but I am a newbie in the breeding arena. If I cross a Marans rooster (dark egg layer) with a Leghorn (white egg later), will I just get a tan colored egg? And will the offspring look like feathered Dalmatians?

The leghorn crosses I have seen are white birds with flecks of color in the body.
Not sure of this (Ask me in the fall, I'm playing with a project now.

)But I think the eggs' color would be similar but less intense than the maran color.
