What color would you call the smaller eggs? The large white is from the grocery store.

Our hen was hiding her nest on top of hay bales. One cracked when it fell after I move they hay before I found the nest.

Will the hen lay more eggs in the same nest now that I took them all out? Should I put something back in their place so she keeps laying there?

Well that depends, do you want to dodge falling eggs again?

I'd say pick the spot you want her to lay in and put a few fake eggs there, then lead her to said spot. She should try out the new nest.

I didn't want her to pick a new spot. Easter egg hunts need to be reserved for easter.

If she lays another one tomorrow, I'd like to know where to find it. Until we figure out a better place for her to lay them on top of hay is fine. We have plenty of other haybales.

What color would you call that? Are they brown or cream?

My girls prefer certain nest boxes. I have a golf in each nest box. If they haven't been laying long the eggs are usually smaller in the beginning but get larger as they lay more. Pullet eggs next to my hens eggs.
