egg color ?

I have an EE roo. If I breed him with brown egg layer girls what color eggs will the offspring lay?

Blue egg gene plus Brown egg genes = green eggs


BUT you can't tell what shade, and you can still get surprises.

These are from a brown egg-gene male and a blue egg mother.

It depends on your Easter Egger. Does he have a single or pea comb? Pink, red, or white earlobes? If he's got the genes for green eggs, you'll get greenish brown laying offspring. If he's got blue - You'll get green laying offspring. If he's got light brown or brown, you'll get normal brown laying offspring.

Some Easter Eggers don't carry red earlobes, which are a good indicator of colored (and not pale or white) eggs. White, blue, or very light pink earlobes often indicate a pale or white egg. My only hatchery based Easter Egger has earlobes that are tipped pink, but with a white and blue center. She lays VERY pale brown eggs.
