Egg coloring question

My olive egger doesn’t lay olive green eggs is that normal?
She lays brown eggs.

I have googled pictures of the breed the pictures look like mine but no green eggs!

Sadly my other one died.
But both layer brown eggs.

Some olive eggers do have a chance of laying a brown egg. Theyre created by mixing a blue egg gene and brown egg gene so sometimes you can get pink or brown eggs depending on the bloom. Most hatcheries put that disclaimer on all their OE pages and some even offer refunds if you didnt get your colored egg.

No worries! Depending on whether it's the blue shell gene color that's brown by mistake or the bloom color that's brown you might get a more khaki or greenish egg on days where the bloom isn't as heavy I would crack one open and see if the shell is blue or brown on the inside and that will tell you whether it's the bloom or the shell color genes that are making it brown. Sorry you aren't getting the green eggs you expected thats always a bummer!

In creating an olive egger a dark brown layer And a blue egg layer are used. If the blue egg layer has 2 genes for blue eggs, the offspring will all lay olive type eggs due to the blue egg being dominant to not blue.
If the blue egg laying parent only has one blue egg gene (like an f1 olive egger) half of the chicks will lay olive eggs. The other half will lay brown eggs.
