Ok my fellow chicken people I just found a dark brown speckled egg tell me who would have laid it a RIR or a barnyard awaiting your answer

Rhode Island Reds usually lay brown eggs, but that does not mean that it cannot lay a brown speckled egg. Dark brown with speckles, I don't think it would be a RIR.

I would say that it is a barnyard mix, if that is what you meant by barnyard.

Eggs of the same bird can be variable. I have ducks, but sometimes one that has laid solid colored green egg for a long time will come out with one that is speckled with white.

This is a bit different, but the next to last egg on the right front has a bluish spot. It also has some whitish marks on it. This is a duck egg, but this duck usually lays eggs of a solid greenish color.

I think it is my other barnyard also because I have been waiting for her to lay her 1st egg.
