I've noticed in the past few weeks all the eggs seem to be a shade or two lighter, except the Cuckoo Marans dark brown egg is still dark and the Ancona chicken egg is white like always. My little Egyptian Fayoumi had the prettiest ivory-white egg and now it's as white as the Ancona. The medium-brown layers are now very light brown or tan. They have free-choice layer feed + oyster shell and acres of free range from dawn til dusk. Just fluctuation of what they are eating on the free range or ??? I never noticed this in the past couple of years. Yup, everyone is healthy and happy, I just like to know stuff, if there is stuff to know! Edit to say there are 16 hens + 1 rooster and I'm getting an average of 12 eggs a day.
