Hi,

I recently purchased some duck eggs. The seller said that they were muscovys, rouens and mallards. I asked her that I really wanted muscovy eggs. The eggs I received are large and white/cream color. I also got two green eggs. I have some rouens in the bator right now and the eggs I got really look the same as the rouens I already have. What do muscovy eggs look like??? Is there a difference between the muscovy eggs and the rouens ???

Thanks for your help,

Tony Garza

Those are some clean looking eggs. Nice. My silly duck seems to like to poop on them so I won't want to take them. She has a way of marking her territory by pooping on everything.

lol, they were laid in my room. she has a nesting box under my desk in my room. dad is in here too. but no more broody ducks in my bedroom!!!!!!!!!! lol

See..There is some good points about keeping ducks inside the house!!!!!!!! I clean out my ducks nesting boxes every day- and still get dirty eggs.

Tony - Muscovy eggs do have a different feel about them compared to other duck eggs. They have a waxy surface different to other breeds. It just seems a bit thicker.

This is what I think the solution to my problem is. I'll move all the duck eggs to lockdown and see if anything hatches at day 28. Then manually turn the remaing eggs until day 32 and lockdown again. I think that may work - hopefully.

Tony
