Egg count vs laying hens

Always wondering what I'll find each day in the coop. Will there be eggs? How many? Any broken?

Out of my 7 hens(maybe 8 ), I usually have 3-5 eggs a day. On a good day I'll have 6. I let them out of the run around lunchtime. I occasionally do find yard eggs.

What about all of you guys? What can you expect from your girls?

Your average hen lays between 3 and 5 times a week. If a production bird, more.

In the winter, I can expect between 2 and 6 eggs a week out of the 24 hens I have. Some are a bit older and take the whole winter off, six were added last spring which is why I think we never had zero. With the shorter days it is to be expected. Yesterday I found 18 out of 24. With hens in their 3rd year, and very few breeds that are high layers, I am super impressed with that number. Summer will probably average about 15 a day.
