I have been getting up to 11 eggs up until about a week ago. Now I’m lucky to get anywhere from 2-4 eggs. What’s happening? My girls are about 8 months old and have laid eggs almost daily. I know egg production decreases, but my girls are still in their prime, not molting, and very healthy. Is this normal? Does the weather have anything to do with it? I’m in middle Georgia and the temperatures are very inconsistent so it’s not like we are in any bitter cold. They’ve laid when it’s been in the 20’s just like they’ve laid when it’s been in the 80’s. So I don’t see how temperatures could be the problem. Any ideas?

Are they confined to coop and run at all times or free ranging in a larger area? Is your coop/run completely secure against outside invasion by potential egg snatchets?

They are confined to coop/run. Their pen/run is quite a large area. It’s pretty predator proof. I have never seen any evidence of an egg snatcher.
