I have a White Leghorn that is in her second or third year of laying and a mutt hen that is in her first year of laying. I've never had any issues with my leghorn's eggs until the last couple of weeks. This past week she's only had one egg that was not completely broken when I've gotten them out the coop and that was the one I got out today. My other mutt girl started laying very normal eggs at first, then after her first week or two, the eggs started to have a few calcium deposits. Since then all of her eggs have had them and some even almost completely covered. She's had several that shes laid with an extra membrane and whites attached outside. Then we went out one day and there was a massive egg which I have pictured next to another one of her eggs and my Black Orpington's egg that I got that same day at the top. It ended up being an egg with another egg inside. The outer one had a very soft shell and the inside was a normal egg with several calcium deposits on it. My other 3 girls are laying just fine, I don't know what is going on with these two. They all started laying later this year and we decided to put some egg supplements in their food that we haven't done before, so I thought maybe that was a reason. I'm just at a complete loss as to why or what to do. They free range in the day while we're at home, so as of right now that's every day. Sorry for the long post, I just thought the more info the better. The white egg is from today and it isn't actually cracked, it's like she laid it with cracks in it. The one with three eggs doesn't quite show how large the double egg is. If you look at its size compared to the pen, it shows the scale better.
