Egg eater problem

I just planted my first mustard eggs. One of my austrolorps immediately had a bite and shook her head in disbelief. She then jumped in the nest and sat on that egg and the wooden one which was there. It was a perfect set up, because she warmed it up, jumped off and then the other culprits all toddled over. To my dismay, it was three of my beloved buff orpingtons. They all dug in, each trying it more than once before they left in disgust, wiping their beaks in the dirt. I'll keep up the mustard imposters for a few days and buy some time as I figure out when to cull and freshen my flock. My auracana eggs are never touched, which means the light brown must have at one time been weak. I did have an incident when one of my buffs literally was so eager for fresh egg, she was pecking at the laying hen's backside. I have a can of red wound protector nearby and plan on spraying the offenders when I catch them in the act, so I can identify them. It really is hard to identify one from the other.
