Sorry, i'm confused. How could her egg be covered with yolk if there was no sign of it (the egg)?

I had her in with two other hens, and there was no sign of their eggs. I should have specified that. There was no sign of the egg the yolk came from.

Are you going to try to rehab her?

Not sure. For the moment she's in isolation and she's going to stay there for a while longer.

You might put half a dozen golf balls in with her. I think banging her beak on those a few times might be convincing, especially if you can get her own egg out immediately.

That's the thing--she's not eating her own egg, ever. I get an egg a day from her, no problems. I don't have any golf balls, but I need to find something.

Golf balls are pretty cheap, come several to a container and walmart has them.
