I've finally identified the egg eater in my flock. My 8 month Australorp who has gotten so efficient that I can't get any uncracked eggs anymore. I think the others are following suit.

I only hav 3 egg layers right now (and one is isolated due to an illness). I'm not planning on culling, so need a good alternative. I'm thinking of maybe blocking off my nests in the coop and building a separate nest area with roll out boxes. Anyone have experience with roll out nest boxes. Do they work? And any suggestions on building a standalone new nesting area?

Thanks,
Jen

Have you tried blowing out an egg and filling it with mustard? It's supposed to help with eat eatting.
