Egg eatin' chickens..

One top nest always has a single egg and is henpecked, just a peck.
Is that the only place the eggs get eaten?
How many birds, how many nests, how big is coop and run in feet by feet, etcetcetc.
How old are birds and how long have they been laying?

I know they get testy if I don't feed em' and water them early enough
They should have feed and water every hour they are awake.
What all and how exactly are you feeding?

Only in the egg laying house, two ground level nest boxes mostly.. I removed all other ground level as they weren't using them to give more floor space.. 30 something birds, age varies. Some fairly old some about a year.. The yearlings can't say, brown egg is a brown egg.. Only once saw one on a nest.. Roost is likely 10' by 8' with standing room and attached egg house maybe 6' x 6' all inside the run. Which is maybe 30' by 40'.. maybe more. They have plenty of room, the roost could use a couple more poles I think.. They have water.. unless the dang waterer sticks and goes dry. $50 times two for two pieces of junk.. The old one is okay, the new one is best of luck.. if it doesn't drain. As feed goes. recently switched down too dry crumbles, some scratch and sunflower daily.. the occasional scrap. Need to get back to fermenting the crumbles.. Long Winter wore me down.. I feed them the amount they will eat.. If there are leftovers the next day regularly. I cut back a little till they consume all regularly.. I doubt it's not enough, fat chickens.. As for feed forever all they do is play in it, skater it and waste it. Only eat off the hanging feeder, not off the floor. Apparently I have spoiled them.. They didn't drink as much water on fermented feed.. they can go through 4 gallons in a day.. Now that it is spring/summer and don't need heating base.. I may try once again to repair the other waterer, once again and again.. May try inserting a bladder (balloon) in the float or some Styrofoam, it wouldn't waterlog. Then they'll have 8 gallons.. amazing thing is when on fermented feed, 4 gallons could last a week easy, not just one or two days.
