I like my hens and it's better to lose one than lose the hole flock that is why they are so versatile if something goes wrong you can put them in a pot and there's Sunday night dinner

Cash money some people are not worth wasting time to try and reason with! A lot of my friends don't understand how I can raise rabbits ducks turkeys and pigs also for slaughter. It depends on how you were raised I suppose, but the thing is people need to respect everyones decision on the issue and not be so closed minded and judgmental! Responding to her at all is just fueling her nonsense! I just feel bad she sabotaged this threat and ruined the support and help that house mouse was in need of, that's selfish and wrong!

I keep seeing to use hot sauce as a deterrent. However, I've read elsewhere that chickens dont have the receptors for heat and therefore are unaffected by things such as hot peppers. Just curious if anyone has first hand experience.

I occasionally add chilli powder to my chickens Fermented Feed. They love it. I was told it helps get rid or worms.

I also use pumpkin as a natural wormer. So far, no worm issues with my flock. Now is a good time of year to use it too!

I haven't tried the cayenne yet. How do you add it? I don't ferment my feed yet (I have too much to do as is LOL).

i do ferment feed, its worth the time and only takes a couple minutes a day once u learn! but I mix enough pepper to make the feed rusty colored 1 time a month

Another good thing to do is adding Apple cider vinegar to the water. It needs to be the active culture kind often called with the mother. I now make mine up from apple juice and add old ACV to that and let it ferment. I add that to all the chickens but the chicks need it the most.
