Egg eating chickens.....

that is this weekends project, i am going to make one modification, i am going to make it roll to the edge of the coop so i can get the eggs without any more need for going in the coop - thanks for finding this, i am stoked!

I had a brief bout of egg eating and it was inspired by a hen who laid in the wrong spot and managed to crack her eggs each time... one of my hens would wait, I swear, to see if the other hen was coming in to lay! I had to increase my number of "Egg checks" each day and I removed the shavings from the spot the misguided hen was laying in, so she couldn't really make a comfy spot. Best of luck to you! Wish I had a fancy roll away nest box!

My Leghorn (rip) had been eating her eggs. Per a trick I found online, I took one of the broken shells and added a yolk sized dollop of yellow mustard. She ate the mustard, and wasn't impressed. Never had an issue again!
