Egg eating

That stinks. I went through that with one of my Pekins. She wasnt eating her own but my other females eggs. She would stand next to her and bite her neck, pick under her body trying to get her egg. It was like she was bullying her to lay that egg so she could eat it. We have a camera in their house so I could see what she was up to. First of all her eggs were very thin shelled so it was easy for her to break open and eat. I still am going through trying to thicken up her shells by giving daily doses of calcium. It has helped a little but not completely.....that’s a different story.
Anyway, I added a couple fake eggs to two separate nests and the biggest thing I did that I definitely think helped was to add a lot more bedding. I made it very thick with soft straw and it seemed to help her bury it better and hide it from the other female.
But because she’s eating her own eggs it may be more challenging. I would check to make sure her eggs are not overly thin and they’re not just breaking from her sitting on them and then enjoying the treat inside. I’m new to ducks so I don’t have a lot of knowledge about this thing other than my experience. Good Luck.
