egg fertility

I am not sure, it could be a blood spot. Every great once in a while maybe 2-3 eggs a year that we eat have those, I am sure some we sell have them too. If you have any pictures, post them and maybe someone will know for sure.

I don't know how to post a link, but I found one doing a search in BYC it is Do These Eggs Look Fertile and it was by cluckychick. It has pics in it, they were a little blurry, but might be enough to get you started. I will keep looking.

Try this, I don't know if it will work, but maybe I figured out how to post a link.

decided to make chicken parmigiana - use the two eggs I got today and both have the ''bullseye''! AND, the younger hens egg is darker today too! So, maybe I'll start keeping a few as soon as my quail hatch

I just love the chocolate and gold feathers on the welsummers - I could see having a whole yard full of them

It's a good thing hubby likes birds too! LOL! We both went down in the basement yesterday and hand-fed the new chicks and poults - and then when we came back up and he looked at the incubator full of quail eggs - he said ''what are we gonna do with all these birds?'' - I say ''enjoy them! You like the birds, right?!''. He said ''yup!''..... so glad to finally find something to raise that hubby likes too - he has NEVER been interested in the least with my rabbits, so this will be nice to have him part of this
