Egg fertility

Sorry. I'm no help at all when it comes to waterfowl!
Chickens, peafowl, quail... horses, household pets... even people (I'm an RN)
but, sadly, I have no experience with waterfowl.
LOL!
I tried to incubate 2 duck eggs once, but they hatched on day 21... they were RIR chicks. Shelley still owes me for that one!

LOL!

An even bigger THANKS for all the interesting replies to my queries. I heard it takes 10 days for fertile eggs to be laid after the hen is put to a rooster - is this correct?

The '3-week-since-her-rooster-died' eggs are now under a clucky chook - I will post the results when they either hatch or dont . . . .

It is also interesting to see what other animals chook people have. Here, along with the araucanas, ranger, barred rocks, silkies, and a few mixes, are a cairn terrier, guineapigs, an A2 jersey heifer, a connemara, a standardbred, and a small pony of dubious heritage . .
