Egg flavor (not a recipe, but an inquiry.)

It's going to be a (feels like) loooong while till my birds start giving me eggs.

I recently saw some videos online about commercial egg farms.

I had NO idea! I was completely ignorant. I think that the general population probably is when it comes to where our food comes from.

The day I saw those videos and pictures I decided that no more will I support an industry that treats those birds that way.

So I decided that till my girls start laying I will no longer purchase eggs unless they are cage free.

I just ate some of those for the first time, and I really do think I noticed a difference in flavor from the regular store bought eggs.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Will my eggs be the same, or better yet?

What is your experience with this?

I can't wait to have my own eggs.

home grown eggs taste way better there fresher then store bought. some of your egg yokes may be real orange in color they are real good for french toast. a friend of mine was throwing the orange yoke eggs away i told him dont do that there the best ones more rich in flavor he tryed them now he is hooked on my eggs.

The eggs will be stronger; the white will stand up in the pan instead of spreading like water, the yolk will not break or incorporate as easily when you mix it with other stuff. It's easier to do eggs over easy!

They will taste eggier than commercial eggs.

My mom likes our eggs even better than the 'spensive eggs from the store, but she can't get her own chickens.

They're really tasty!

yours will be 10,000,000,000,000,000 times better than regular store bought! The color of the yolk will be oranger, richer... so will the flavor. The nutrition content will be better as well as you will feed them a better diet and they will have happier, healthier lives. Yes, organic, cage-free are better then "normal" store eggs, but they will be nothing compared to your own, I promise. You have much to look forward to!

p.s. I am raising my own chicks for the first time as well and haven't had my own eggs, but I grew up with homegrown eggs from many sources, so I know the difference well. And I, too, refuse to suppose such a horrendous industry!
