egg from outer space?

My flock is less than 1 year old they got here from McMurray on easter morning.
the eggs have been nice big ones all summer.
yesterday I got one that was really dark & spotted plus it was only the size of a quarter!! my girls lay mainly xlarge to jumbo
they are brown egg layers but not this dark OR this speckled ?? To soon for wind eggs I think, what do y'all think>? could an alien be sneaking in with my girls?

A bird of a different feather visited your flock and deposited that egg.

We have other birds that congregate around our run all the time... just haven't had any lay eggs.

Hiccups in the egg factory happen. They also happen more often than you realize.

Raise chickens long enough and you will witness some very odd things.
