I have 7 chickens and for two days it was runny liquid in their bedding. Just in 2 spots so maybe two chickens.
Yesterday I gave them egg shells.

This morning I found a half hard and half soft egg that had not broken yet and gone into the bedding.

Has anyone had this happen? I read about Vent Gleat and didn't check for that yet. Could it just be a calcium deficiency?

Thanks for any knowledge or experience you have. This is my first time having chickens and they were given to us with our new home.

How old are the chickens? Are they on a calcium fortified food? For egg shells to be strong, they do need calcium high food and having oyster shells added is always a good thing. Good Luck.

I think 2 years old - maybe 3 - I will feed them oyster shells :) And will look at the food- I am feeing them an organic feed from Modesto farms- a crumble feed and I throw in scratch every now and then. and Meal worms
