Egg hatching with saddled air cell

What is happening here? I’m not sure how long ago this egg pipped, it pipped on the bottom of the egg and I did not notice until the chicks that have already hatched knocked it over. But there’s a big chunk chipped out, yet it looks like it’s just now poked its beak through the membrane I think that is. I can see blood vessels through the chip too. Is it ok? This egg did have a saddled air sac. I forgot to mark exactly where the air sac was…

Update: it still looks the same about 8 hours later.

Any advice? This is obviously a time sensitive situation.

I'm new to chickens and only hatched eggs once, but from what I understand unless the chick is sealed it, it's best to let it be. If it pipped through the membrane it can breathe and the yolk in the egg will keep it nourished. One of my eggs flipped while chicks were thrashing around and the chick hatched fine on it's own.

You could try grabbing the egg and listen for peeping or feel for movement, but then you risk the membrane drying out and making the hatch more difficult.

If you think the chick is sealed it you could try increasing the humidity a bit by adding some water to the incubator.

Well it hatched this morning, so I guess it was ok after all!
