I have a particular chicken who lately is laying eggs with what looks like bumps. Can anyone help me figure it out? Shes a 2yr old black cochin bantam

Calcium deposits. Are you feeding OS on the side or mixed in with your feed. I have a bird that lays fragile shells but also has calcium bumps. Go figure.

What all and how exactly are you feeding?
Is egg otherwise fine, good hard shell?

The shell is fine otherwise. All my chickens get layer feed and 2 separate bowls of oyster shells so there is always some

Nothing to worry about, IMO.

As far as I know the bumps are ok. I've not had any problems with them. Just another thing with individual birds.

One of my three Buckeye hens always lays bumpy eggs; she's the only one here who does that. Everybody eats the same all-flock feed and has access to calcium. Her shells are otherwise fine, and she doesn't appear to have any health problems.
