egg hunt

free range having to hunt for eggs laying them in differnt spots any idea how i can get them to lay the eggs in the same location

Contain them where you want them to lay for a few days. If that's not possible, when you find a nest mark one egg and leave it there. I found if I cleared a nest completely the hens wouldn't lay there again. If I drew a circle around an egg with a sharpie and left it there, they'd continue to use that nest.
