egg idenification

Funny thing is - if the hens were purebred, we could guess. Doesn't matter what the chick is inside, the eggs will be whatever color that hen normally lays.

Why don't you try posting a picture? We might be all wrong, because different hens within a breed can lay differing shades of brown eggs, but it would be fun to guess.

My australorp lays a long, narrow darker brown egg. My barred rocks lay an almost pinkish, lighter brown egg. My wyandottes aren't really consistent on the shade of their eggs. Sometimes they're darker, sometimes they're lighter.

And as the laying cycle goes on, the tint on the egg shell tends to lighten.
 
awsome soccoer mom , how did your hatch finnly turn out I think I lost track somewhere?

I have a set of 3 , there were 12 but only 5 grew and only 3 are still growing in the egg and a set of 6 left in my incubator , its quite the addiction ,
I had one hatch at my first hatch 100% (only one egg)
I had 13 hatch for my second hatch 90?%( set 14 eggs)
I have 11 on day 20 the mystery eggs.
I have 3 on day like 14
I have 6 on day 8
Im getting 6 more in the mail pluse 24 quail eggs I won from purple chicken,
AND I am takeing an icubator I bought from puple chicken and gonna try to hatch duck and chicken eggs in my sons preschool class room.
