Egg in chest?

I have a bantam frizzle chicken that has what feels to be an egg up in her chest near her neck. I have never felt this before so I'm guessing it's not normal. There's a chance it's a tumor too, but it feels like an egg. Is there something I should do for her? She laid an egg yesterday. I took a picture and will attach it as soon as I can get my other computer to work.

She may have just eaten way too much. If her crop is full it will feel almost like a hacy sac (sp?) It may also be impacted crop. If after she goes without food over night she still has a egg in her throat she may be impacted.

The crop is located in their lower neck, just above their breast bone. Chickens don't eat or anything once it is dark since they can't see at night. So, if in the morning the lump is smaller everything is as it should be. If she has an impacted crop she will probably go off feed and then there are many threads on here about what to do.

I was shocked the first time I felt a full crop on one of my chickens but when I compared all the girls I found that it was just the way chickens are :)

Good luck, keep us posted.

The crop is located in the neck. I am not sure what a hacy sac is either. If she just ate than it is normal. Take the food away from her in the evening and check her in the morning. The crop should feel smaller. Keep us posted.

Thanks, I've never felt this before so I was nervous. I let the chickens free range in the yard about twice a week and I found this right after she was in the yard, so I'm guessing it's because she ate a bunch of grass and other stuff.

sorry its spelled hacky sack ..... small bean bag ball used in a game where players stand in a circle and try to keep the ball from hitting the ground w/o using their hands. I didn't think I was that old lol
