Landrace project F1 chicks!!!

There's a Landrace/adaptive breeding conversation ongoing that might give you some help from people who have been doing this for decades. I just started my project a few years ago, but my goals are similar to yours.
Really? That's so cool!
Large, broody, capable of foraging their food even in winter and reproducing enough to outbreed the predators.
Interesting! I'm more focused on egg production than meat production
So far predator losses are low (one rooster caught in a tailchase by something large enough to carry off the body, two hens vanished). Hawks fly over, eyeball the situation, and go elsewhere.
That's cool! I haven't lost any of mine to predators yet, although my rooster has fought off a hawk before

So I just realized something quite interesting... If Vadakor is Birchen split Silver Duckwing and my hen Hickory is whatever Black Stars are split Golden Duckwing... Then roughly 25% should get the recessive Duckwing gene from both parents, right?

Idk a lot about Duckwing but I know it's VERY recessive and roosters won't show a wing triangle until they hit 4-6 months... And since some the F1 Vadakorian cockerels look somewhat like young brown and silver leghorns

This is Gunter, he's one that I suspect might be Duckwing

I couldn't get a photo of his wings, but he has a TON of leakage developing on his primaries but especially his secondaries
