Egg inside an egg

O my! I’ve raised chickens for almost 40 years and have never had this happen. My girls are only 5 1/2 months old so they are laying small “pullet eggs”. Imagine cracking one open and a plunk of something hard inside falls into bowl! There was no yolk inside the tiny dark brown egg, just clear, but the original egg had yolk and clear.

This can happen with new layers. It probably won't happen again.

I have seen it occasionally, it's a fluke in new layers usually only happens once, if it continues they most likely have a production issue but doubt there would be anything you could do about it.

Isn't it wild!!?! That's really rare, you'll likely never get another one.
