We just had this on Sunday. One HUGE egg in a nesting box. When hubby cracked it open there was a normal egg inside it. My chicks just started laying in the last 2 weeks and I'd read that their early eggs can be weird, but I'd never heard of this before seeing this post.
It had to have hurt!
