Egg is still attached

I have one new chick, it's still running around, for hours and the egg is still attached and hasn't dropped.
How long can this typically last? And what if any steps need to be taken aside from humidity.

As long as there is no yolk sack/umbilical cord in that shell,, I would just try to gently remove,, or break off the excess shell.
