i have four chickens that were chicks on easter. one of them just started laying yesterday and the egg is brown with dark brown speckles we have 2 red sex links,1 light Brahma roo, and 1 austrolorp.

Potentially, the egg could be from any of your hens since all of them are brown egg layers, but in my experience, the heavy number of dark brown speckles on the egg is more common with the Red Sex Links than with the Australorp or the Light Brahma. Beautiful egg, what a great start

You really should take a picture of it , double mat it and nice frame so your relatives will really think you are nuts. But, we would really enjoy the photo. You only get once chance at a FIRST egg.
