Egg Laying Age

If I have a roo that has starting mating with the hens, should the hens that came from the hatchery in the same order be ready to start laying now?

Most of the time, the roo will only mate when the hens are fertile (laying eggs) Somtimes they jump the gun, but I would expect to see eggs in 10 or so days.

Thank you. I'm still new to the scene. I had gotten 7 pullets in March 2008 and they started to lay in July or August. I got 15 more pullets and a roo in August and thought they might be getting close, but wasn't sure if the weather would delay their laying..
