Hello, I have a question about duck egg laying. So about 1 year ago I hatched out my own ducklings that were mixed breed and both of the different breeds lay 350 eggs per year but now they aren’t laying during cold days or just laying durning summer or spring. Is it like if they are mixed breed their egg laying is disturbed and don't lay as much as how their parents do?

Pekin and Welsh.
Okay so I just did some more research on the egg-laying per year on their breed and welsh lays 200 eggs per year and Pekin 100 eggs. So that makes me question too. My Welsh lays more than 200 lays every season??? She doesn't take many breaks the same with my Blue Swedish they aren't the best layers but she lays all season too. Do my ducks have some kind of egg-laying deformity?

I don’t think so. My young ducks lay way more than the older ones. But, the older ones lay larger eggs. Those numbers are averages for birds from a particular hatchery. So some will lay more and some less.

The one's that are laying less is a year old but their parents lay more eggs and way bigger too but it may be because of stress.
